Nannup Lavender Farm
My name is Heather Walford and I set up my business Nannup Lavender in 1999 when I planted the first lavender plants on my farm in Nannup. I wanted to create an attraction to draw people to this beautiful place in the south west. Low visitation has meant this plan had to take second place to my need to get my products out to the market. I open the farm up occassionally for people to visit in spring and the flowering season of December to January.
The business has grown and changed over the years and I have developed a strong range of products that people love coming back for. I started with balms and sprays which I initially mixed in my kitchen. I use natural ingrediants and essential oil of lavender as the basis of most of my products. The flower I grow is harvested once a year in January, dried and incorporated in wheatbags, eye pillows and draw pillows. I grow high quality lavender flower Lavendula Intermedia and a small amount of culinary lavender lavendula angustifolia. I buy in essential lavender oils and source these as locally as possible.
I now sell my products on line, at our shop in town “A Taste of Nannup and Beyond” and at all the major South West events. I have my products stocked in a range of outlets in the south west but I am open to more as customers in Busselton and Bunbury as well as Perth are always asking where they can buy it.
