Prosperity and wellbeing in our region

Boosting the sales of South West women who make food-art-craft by hand

What is WomanMade?

This project is coordinated by the South West Women’s Health and Information Centre.

Our centre is committed to the wellbeing of all women in the South West of Western Australia.

The aim of the project “Woman Made” is to promote the prosperity of woman in the south west who make art/craft/food/books for sale.  The web site- www.womanmade.com.au is a portal to connect to women to facilitate their sales.  Our site will connect to the woman’s own email or website.

We will promote women’s enterprises extensively in the South West of Western Australia, other parts of Australia and Overseas.

Once the potential customer or other interested person has connected to the Woman Made woman via our site, all communication and sales are handled by the woman herself and all responsibility for the items for sale.  The site is a portal and therefore any business or sales transactions are undertaken by the women herself.  We are focusing on items for sale, not services.

We know the value of a mixed income in rural communities and we know the enormous contribution that women make to their own or family’s income.

We have also been able to offer to women participating in this project some business and art development coaching.

The lead funding bodies are the South West Development Commission Community Chest funding, the Department of Local Government and Communities with a Women’s Grant, City of Bunbury for Art Development funding and the South West Women’s Health and Information Centre.
