RADIANCE SOUTH WEST - PERINATAL AND INFANT MENTAL HEALTH SYMPOSIUM
Saturday February 23rd, 2019 - 8.00am Registration 9.00am start – 4.30pm.
The vision of the Radiance Network is to raise awareness around perinatal anxiety and depression and around the importance of supporting the emotional wellbeing of families and their journey into parenthood. Our aim is to provide a community network connecting parents to local services in their local community and to ensure communication, education, inspiration and action around Perinatal and Infant Mental Health.
With these aims in mind, and given the prevalence of postnatal depression, anxiety and adjustment disorders and the effects of these on families and relationships and the wellbeing of children, we are excited to host (auspiced by South West Women’s Health and Information Centre) a medium scale conference in the South West in 2019. Our theme is:
Together Anything is Possible.
“We don’t have to do all of it alone. We were never meant to”. Brene Brown.
Purpose of the conference
- Create awareness and energy around the Radiance Network;
- Education / inspiration;
- Platform for sharing of ideas / networking;
- Community engagement / cohesiveness / connection/
Target audience
Health professionals, service providers, students and people passionate about perinatal and infant mental health.
We aim to fill 100 seats and will be promoting our event locally and through networks in Perth.
Proposed venue
“The Undalup Room” at the City of Busselton. This is a beautiful room and the building showcases our region.
Keynote speaker
Our keynote speaker will be Dr Vijay Roach, from the Gidget Foundation in NSW. The Gidget Foundation is a not for profit organisation that provides programs to support the emotional wellbeing of expectant and new parents. We are delighted that Dr Roach is very supportive of the Radiance Network and has confirmed his attendance.
Our supporting speakers (approximately six) will be varied, relevant and of great interest to the target audience.
Sundowner event
